HOW WOULD YOU WEAR IT || DENIM

SELF CONFIDENCE vs GOD-FIDENCE
I went through a traumatic emotional experience and my self esteem became so low. I didn't feel like I had any self worth left. I beat myself every single day and I didn't want to tell anyone because I am the high self esteem "queen". I finally told my mum and she said to me; "Tomilola, no one can make you see your self worth or make your self esteem high again except God and you".

So I turned to God, day and night I cried out to Him to remind me about my self worth. One morning, I saw a quote that said "The Bible is a reflection of how God sees you". So I went to the Bible to read about God's love for me and how much God thinks I'm amazing and all the ways God has gone out of His way for me. And gradually, I started to feel beautiful again. I started to truly believe that I was something special again. You see I had self confidence most of my life, but now I have God-fidence. A self-worth that comes from knowing I am a child of God and knowing that God delights in me. A self-worth that comes from my biggest treasure being a relationship with God.

What I'm trying to say is that sometimes, bad things happen to you and the devil is so happy because he gets to milk your pain and before you know it, you have low self esteem and self worth. If that happens, go to God. Your Creator is the only person that can tell you about yourself and in case you didn't know, He laid down the life of his Son for you. I may not know much but I know that says a lot about how He thinks about you.

I decided to participate in blogger-friend (Diane of Dee-vine Anonyme) "How Would You Wear It" and this month's challenge was either Denim or Printed Pants and I chose to incorporate Denim in my outfit. For my 1st outfit, I was going to go the whole Head to Toe Denim route but I opted last minute for just a hint of denim. The dress was on sale for just £13. Can you believe that? I love a good bargain. I paired it with simple heels for a nice springy-summery look. For my 2nd outfit, I just wanted to showcase the simplicity of denim and paired it with a white blouse and black heels. I had a bad hair day hence the scarf. "When birds are sold, two small birds cost only a penny. Pretty cheap, right, But not even one of the little birds can die without God been aware. God cares so much about you that He knows how many hairs are on your head. So don’t be afraid or lose hope. To God, you are more valuable....worth much more than a million birds - Matthew 10:29-31 // Luke 12:6-7"

Lots of love,

  1. It's never a easy experience being cheated on, but as you said yourself, it doesn't have anything to do with you but everything to do with the cheater. I guess it's easier said than done but don't ever feel like you're not even worth something because somebody doesn't see your worth.
You look beautiful, I'm glad you were able to participate :)

  6. God-fidence huh? I like that. I like that. I can relate because I go through my low esteem days. I start picking at everything I don't like about myself and compare myself to others. Over the years, I've forced my self to wallow for a little bit but then I move on. I say a lot of self affirmations and tell myself I'm valued and loved. It's not easy all the time, but it helps. I'm happy and proud of your progress. Stay God-fident girl!
