Oh Bananas || Oh Audrey

I have this really gross habit of not finishing my banana at a go. Like, I'll cut off some and put the rest in the fridge for another day. So a couple of days ago, I did the same thing, closed my fridge and went on about my business. Then I noticed
that my fridge wasn't closed properly so I went over and tried to close it. It still didn't close and I looked down. The tip of my banana peel. I mean just the tip was outside. I was shocked as banana peels usually just slide through things.  How could something as little as a banana peel cause my amazing fridge door not to close? I  picked up the peel and put it back in the fridge. 

You know what that incident reminded me of? "Little sins" and the underestimated havoc they cause. Big sins usually start off as little sins. There was a time I was feeling a little "housewifey" and decided to make puff puff. (It's very similar to bread). Puff puff, like bread requires a little yeast to make it swell. (I may be wrong because I don't like cooking). So you put that yeast and wait for it, the mixture will swell and become a lot more than it was. That's how little sins work in your life. They are seeds that you plant. Seeds that demand to be watered.

Charles Spurgeon has this really amazing analogy on the impact of little sins and I must share it with you;

"When satan cannot get a great sin in, he will let a little one in, like the thief who goes and finds shutters, all coated with iron and bolted inside. At last, he sees a little window in a chamber. He cannot get in, so he puts a little boy in, that he may go round and open the back door. So the devil always carries these little sins around with him to go and open back doors for him. 'O, it's just a little sin' we say. Yes, but how that little sin becomes the ruin of the entire man"

I've always been a fan of Audrey Hepburn's style. I love how feminine and lady-like she always "appeared" to be. High Necklines. Low Hem Length. Can we bring that back this year? This red dress caught my eyes cause it reminded me of Audrey. The skirt of the dress wasn't full enough for me so I am wearing a tutu underneath my dress to make it fuller. I know Audrey loves her veils so I immediately went in search of a veil to match this outfit. I almost went for the gloves but I decided that might be taking it too far. I'm not Audrey after all. I dusted my favourite pair of heels from Zara and that completed the look. How did I do?

Yeast, though really small, works its way through a whole batch of bread dough pretty fast. So we ought to get rid of that yeast. (1 Corinthians 5:6 & Galatians 5:9). Yeast = Little sin. Bread = Mankind.
