GRAN'S ROBE

I'm not a serious tweeter, I go there tweet what I want and leave (which is why I may not reply tweets for a while cause I put off the notification). I digress, Twitter has 140 characters and whenever you're about to exhaust those words, the word counter goes from grey to dark red and when you have 10 more characters left, it goes really bright red. When you exhaust all characters, you start to get a negative sign.

The Twitter character notification reminded me of traffic lights.

There's the green which allows us to go. There's the yellow which tells us to get ready to stop and there's the red which simply means stop. These reminded me of the time when I went on a downward spiral as a born again Christian into a life of sin. We don't just jump into sin, it's a gradual process. We usually start off being green and on fire for God and then we allow ourselves to allow sin fill our minds taking us to the yellow sign. From the yellow sign, we get into that red zone when we give into that sin. And it seems like we're stuck in sin with no way out. I don't know about you that red sign always seems like the longest especially when you are in a meter taxi and there's traffic. Lol. But you know what is amazing about the spiritual traffic Lights? You are in control. You determine where your colour your light is. You determine how long you're gonna let the red light stay for. You determine, when to run back into Gods arms once the yellow lights come on. Point is, you determine whether you live a life of sin or not. You determine whether you want to serve God or not. It's really up to you. Free will is the one thing you cannot take away from Christianity. So, are we gonna work on keeping that light green this year? I hope so

I decided to go with a neutral monotone look today. However, after wearing just my top and skirt, I felt a little over exposed because the slit on the back of this skirt is a little too high. To make matters worse, the slit ripped; so I decided to throw on this vintage kimono. This kimono has matching shorts and I cannot wait to rock them together in warmer months. I feel like I have seen this kimono in my late gran's wardrobe hence the title of the post. I threw on my nude pumps cause they are comfortable and go with everything. Would you rock this?

  1. Very nice analogy. And you're right. You don't just up and sin from nowhere. Little by little, the seed (thought of the sin) gets into your mind and if you don't get rid of it, it gets bigger and bigger and bigger, until it germinates.

    Have a nice week.

  3. Whenever I am digressing from my christian faith, I always explain myself to a friend to help keep me in tracks with encouragements, it is never easy to do it alone. I love your out fit and the way you wore your socks with the shoe, I will try that.

  18. Great analogy. I love how you start your post with a story with substance. And even more than that I love your outfit! The way you paired the colors together and pieces in general is so cute. I don't think to often pair pastels in one outfit. I also like your hair. I'm following you now. I can't wait to see what other posts you have coming soon. - culturedmisprint.blogspot.com

  19. I just love this piece. I had a reply written and my browser lost it somehow but i was saying our Free will can run towards God even better than away when we crave him. We can allow God to fix us when we're broken and instill in us a hungry spirit for him. God bless you for this analogy

  26. Awww you look absolutely beautiful in these pictures...really like that outfit, especially the socks, the socks make me happy...and what you said speaks out to me a lot, it's much more easier to sin than it is to walk away sometimes, but the flesh is weak, so the spirit needs to fight that temptation and it's up to us whether or not we allow it to fight the battle for us. God bless <3
